DawnTown is grateful and honored that Adriaan Geuze — world-famous landscape architect, founder of West 8, designer of Governors Island in NYC, Toronto’s Central Waterfront, and Jubilee Gardens in London — has agreed to be the keynote speaker at the award ceremony on the morning of Friday, December 4, 2009 at Marquis. It will be Mr. Geuze’s first public appearance in Miami since winning the commission to the design the “music garden” adjacent to the New World Symphony’s new Gehry-designed campus in Miami Beach. Mr. Geuze’s genius, the excitement of announcing the winners of DawnTown 2009, and an exhibit of a large selection of innovative entries from around the world promise that the award ceremony will be a highlight of Art Basel Miami Beach week.
