Discussion on Marion Manley

From UM: Listen to University of Miami School of Architecture Professors Carie Penabad and Catherine Lynn discuss Marion Manley, designer of the post-WWII buildings in which the school is located. In addition to designing numerous buildings on the University of Miami campus, Ms. Manley worked on Miami’s Federal Building and Miami’s US Post Office in the 1930s.  Ms. Manley helped to open the door for women to be accepted in the architectural profession.  The lecture will be followed by an exhibition of Manley’s projects.  A new monograph, “Marion Manley Miami’s First Woman Architect”, by Catherine Lynn and Carie Penabad will be available for purchase during the evening.  Wednesday, March 31, 2010, 6:00 pm, University of Miami School of Architecture, Glasgow Hall.
