Local downtown Miami architect Jacob Brillhart had an opening of his work at the Art Center on Lincoln Road. The Art Center/South Florida is a complex that provides studios for many artists in Miami and is a great place to view & buy their work.
The focus of Brillhart’s exhibition is about the roles that drawing and painting play in the digital age, and how traditional visual thinking influences the design process. The exhibition is comprised of paintings done on canvases and sketchbooks done by him, and his former mentor Errol Barron(Tulane University). There are also several models on display with process sketches, showing how the project evolves from a simple sketch to its final form. Brillhart is a supporter and frequent competitor of the DawnTown ideas challenge. Below is a model which he further developed for the Seaplane Terminal Competition. The Art Center is located on 924 Lincoln Road, and the exhibit is up until April 3rd.
