Public Meetings to be held for The Underline

Underline, rendering by UMiami SOA

The Underline is Miami’s ambitious project to transform the underused area underneath the Metro-Rail into a 10 mile linear park & urban trail.  The initiative begin under the partnership of local Miami activist Meg Daly, Professor Rocco Ceo of the University of Miami School of Architecture, and Raymond Fort of Arquitectonica (A full list of friends and partners can be found here).  The University of Miami created some possible scenarios of what could be done in the future by uniting these areas as one park space.  With the support of Miami Dade County, a call went out to see what firms could develop a master plan for this area.  Earlier this year, James Corner Field Operations won the commission to create the plan.  You should recognize the name, as they were responsible for Knight Plaza, the beautifully landscaped area between the Perez Art Museum of Miami (PAMM) and the soon to be completed Patricia & Philip Frost Museum of Science.

Starting on April 16th, there will be three different opportunities for the public to attend info sessions and provide comments on the master plan.  Below are the dates, times, and locations.
